Knocklearn Inc. (Ota-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Ei Fukumoto) is pleased to announce that its recruitment consulting and agency service for startups, "Recboo," has surpassed 70 partnerships with venture capital (VC) firms. This milestone was achieved within approximately three years of the service's launch in March 2023. By continuing to expand partnerships with major domestic VCs, Recboo aims to further solve recruitment challenges for growth-stage startups and strengthen its business support system.
### Background of Recboo-VC Synergy While acquiring high-level talent (Tier 1 talent) is the most critical issue for startup growth, Japanese VCs often face structural limitations that prevent them from maintaining internal HR teams, unlike top-tier VCs in North America. Recboo addresses this gap by being integrated into VC support packages for portfolio companies, allowing VCs to provide high-quality, continuous recruitment support without having to build their own internal HR teams.
### Milestones and Achievements Since announcing the milestone of 50 partner VCs in October 2024, an additional 20 firms have joined the network in just six months, bringing the total to 70. This diversification enables support for startups in various fields, including Deep Tech, SaaS, Healthcare, and Fintech. To date, Recboo has supported over 40 funded startups, with approximately 70% achieving significant growth milestones such as up-rounds, IPOs, M&As, or reaching profitability after receiving support.
Recboo has demonstrated that recruitment is not merely about filling positions but is a direct lever for increasing corporate value. The company will continue to strengthen its collaboration with VCs to support the robust growth of Japanese startups.
