The record-breaking heat in recent years has created a harsh environment not only for plants but also for the people who grow them. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency's three-month forecast for June to August, temperatures this summer are expected to be higher than average. Hyponex Japan, a comprehensive gardening manufacturer, conducted a survey on summer gardening targeting 1,831 men and women nationwide. The most popular summer vegetable was 'cherry tomatoes' (68.4%). The most common issue in summer vegetable gardening was 'fruit cracking due to heat' (43.1%). As a way to overcome the harsh summer, about half of the respondents answered that they 'do gardening work in the early morning' (47.1%). Regarding houseplants, the most common failure was 'rotting due to overwatering' (32.8%). The plant supplement 'Re-Kidas' is recommended for summer heat fatigue. Unlike fertilizers, supplements act like vitamins for humans and are an effective way to help plants recover from heat stress. Nearly two-thirds of those who have used it reported feeling effects such as 'improved color' and 'healthier vegetables.'
