Purpose and Background of This Course
Our company, which conducts over 100 qualitative surveys annually, will hold a training course for moderators in qualitative marketing research.
This course allows participants to learn practical interview skills required to deeply understand customer needs, which are difficult to grasp through data analysis alone.
Interview surveys in qualitative research are an effective approach for deriving important insights in marketing strategy planning. On the other hand, moderation (interviews) is a difficult skill to acquire, requiring a hybrid of quick analytical ability and gentle communication skills. Conducting interviews without the correct knowledge not only prevents effective information gathering that can be utilized in business but also carries the risk of making incorrect decisions in the worst-case scenario.
In recent years, with the rise of UI/UX research and other trends, opportunities for conducting interviews online have increased, leading to a growing demand for moderators. However, there are still few places or materials available to learn moderation techniques in a practical format.
In light of these industry challenges, our company is holding a practical training course for moderators to acquire these skills.

Three Features of the Weiden Haus Moderator Training Course
1 An original course created by experienced marketing researchers
This course was developed by instructors active in the marketing field. It was created by three individuals with over 10 years of experience in the industry: a marketing researcher, a brand manager at a business company, and a CEO formerly with an overseas consulting firm. They have developed this course from multiple perspectives, covering everything from consumer understanding to business decision-making.
This lecture imparts techniques that these professionals consciously practice, developed through the instructors' unique content.
Participants can refine their analytical skills through learning from both the perspective of a researcher/brand manager at a business company and from a strategic consultant and researcher supporting businesses.
2 6 hours of instruction over 2 days, with practical training combining lectures and practical exercises
The first day consists of a 3-hour online lecture. The second day is a 5-hour in-person session including practical exercises and feedback, where participants will deepen their understanding of specific techniques through Q&A.
Participants have provided positive feedback, stating, "I gained fundamental learning not only on interview techniques but also on how to design marketing research in the first place," and "I had few opportunities to see qualitative research reports, but seeing examples helped me learn how to write reports."
3 Practice in a real qualitative research interview room to experience a realistic environment
The second day's in-person session will be held in a studio actually used as a qualitative research interview room.
Participants can prepare for their role as moderators by practicing in a realistic studio environment that closely resembles actual interview conditions.
