The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has officially opened the application process for the 'Good Career Company Award 2026' on June 1, 2026. This award recognizes companies that serve as models for supporting the autonomous career development of their employees. The goal is to disseminate the importance of career support by showcasing the philosophies, initiatives, and achievements of the winning companies. To assist companies considering an application, the MHLW will host online briefing sessions to explain the award overview, past winning initiatives, and application tips. Amidst changes in industrial structure, globalization, and a declining birthrate with an aging population, enhancing the capabilities of each individual worker is essential for Japan to maintain economic competitiveness and productivity. The application period runs from June 1 to July 14, 2026. Awards include the Grand Prize (Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare Award) and the Innovation Award. The award ceremony is scheduled for late November 2026.
