TABASA et l'Artisan is a special feature page introducing the connection between TABASA and artisans (skilled craftspeople), which began in Autumn 2026. The first installment visits a needle-punch factory in Kiryu, Gunma Prefecture.

TABASA Artisan 01 Tex. Box. Mr. Riichi Sawa Graduated from the Faculty of Law, Kansai University. His father's company went bankrupt, and he joined a client company. The president of that company's headquarters in Yamanashi developed a needle-punch machine. He was put in charge of sales for needle-punching, but found manufacturing so enjoyable that he became independent and continues to this day.

What is Needle Punching? A processing technique that repeatedly pierces fibers with countless needles (needles) to entangle the fibers and form fabric. It allows for adjustment of strength, thickness, and texture without adhesives, creating a sense of three-dimensionality and rich expression in the fabric.

Create layout Cut fabric to size Set the fabric and place the die-cut fabric on top.

Gradually apply the needles. The first pass is a preliminary stitch. After fine-tuning, a second, final stitch is performed.
