PHARUMO, Inc. is partnering with Himeji City and the Himeji Pharmacists Association to launch a collaborative demonstration project in June 2026. This initiative aims to visualize regional antibiotic usage and address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) by analyzing prescription trends from local pharmacy dispensing data. The program will run from June 2026 through March 2027 as a pilot scale involving 50 cooperating pharmacies within Himeji City. The initiative represents an advanced public-private model to enhance community healthcare. The Himeji Pharmacists Association will lead data collection across its pharmacy network, Himeji City will provide administrative support, and PHARUMO will handle technical data analysis. The partners will evaluate the data collection workflow and assess the effectiveness of using analysis results to educate the public on appropriate antibiotic use, deciding on future expansion based on project outcomes.
