FunPep Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture; President: Toshimi Miyoshi) announced that it has signed a joint research agreement with Crafton Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture; President: Hayato Watanabe) to begin joint research on therapeutic mRNA vaccines utilizing antibody-inducing peptide technology. Our company creates functional peptides using proprietary technology focused on diverse needs. Currently, we are focusing our R&D on antibody-inducing peptides (peptide therapeutic vaccines), leveraging our strengths in 'SR-0379' for skin ulcers and the carrier peptide 'AJP001.' Crafton Biotechnology is a biotech company founded based on technologies from Nagoya University and Tokyo Institute of Technology. It possesses an innovative mRNA drug discovery platform, including its proprietary capping technology 'PureCap®.' In this research, we aim to create new therapeutic mRNA vaccines by fusing our antibody-inducing peptide technology with Crafton's unique mRNA technology. Regarding the designed mRNA vaccines, Crafton will be responsible for synthesis, while our company will be responsible for efficacy evaluation.
