Awashima Hotel (186 Urajuuji, Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, General Manager: Taiki Sugimori), a deserted island resort overlooking Suruga Bay and Mt. Fuji, will begin offering limited-time summer course menus at its French restaurant "Island" and Japanese restaurant "Kai" starting July 7, 2026 (Tuesday).

Awashima, where the hotel is located, is a special location surrounded by the sea on all sides. It offers views of Suruga Bay in front and Mt. Fuji in the distance, with a seascape that changes its expression moment by moment. You can spend an extraordinary time on this quiet island, far from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The summer courses prepared this time are special summer menus themed around local production for local consumption, focusing on the abundant seafood of West Izu and Suruga Bay, and seasonal ingredients nurtured by the mountains of Izu.

Chefs have carefully crafted each dish using carefully selected seasonal seafood and vegetables to express the unique flavors of the season.

French Restaurant "Island"

At the French restaurant "Island," we have prepared a colorful summer course using ingredients such as Suzuki (sea bass) from Suruga Bay, Kurokaba beef from Kumamoto Prefecture, and seasonal summer vegetables from Mishima and West Izu.

It is a full course that begins with an appetizer of steamed abalone served with two sauces, caviar cream and gazpacho, followed by a cold green pea potage, pan-seared Suzuki from Suruga Bay, West Izu lemonade granita, and grilled Kurokaba beef fillet from Kumamoto Prefecture, all full of seasonal flavors.

You can enjoy light and delicate flavors that utilize seasonal ingredients, along with beautiful presentation.

Japanese Restaurant "Kai"

At the Japanese restaurant "Kai," we will offer summer kaiseki cuisine using plenty of fresh seafood landed at Numazu Port and seasonal mountain delicacies.

For the sashimi course, we will serve assorted fresh fish landed at Numazu Port. For the grilled dish, we will offer grilled sweetfish seasoned with Toda salt from West Izu. For the medium dish, we will have Kuroka Wagyu sukiyaki.

In addition, you can enjoy dishes that incorporate seasonal flavors unique to West Izu, such as spiny lobster and seasonal vegetables, expressing the chef's skill and the season's essence.

We have paid attention to the tableware and presentation, creating a kaiseki meal that allows you to feel the beauty and seasonal charm unique to Japanese cuisine.

Because of its special location as a deserted island surrounded by the sea on all sides, the cuisine and the scenery become one, creating an unforgettable dining experience.

[Choose Your Aperitif Fair to Enhance the Summer Course]

For this limited-time summer course, we will also hold a "Choose Your Aperitif Fair" to add a festive touch to the beginning of your meal.

For those who enjoy alcohol, we offer "Nocturne" (white or rosé) from the prestigious Champagne house "Taittinger" in France. Its fine bubbles, rich fruitiness, and elegant aftertaste will beautifully complement the start of your summer course meal.

For guests who do not drink alcohol, we offer "Jus de Raisin" created by the renowned Paul Giraud from the Cognac region of France. This rich straight juice, squeezed directly from grapes, offers a sophisticated toast reminiscent of Champagne.

Alternatively, you can experience "Royal Blue Tea Fall in Love," a premium tea that Japan proudly presents to the world.

You can experience a new tea pairing, savoring the rich aroma and delicate umami of the tea leaves and their long-lasting aftertaste in a wine glass.

You can choose your preferred aperitif from four types.
