The Fuchu City Machinaka Marathon Executive Committee will hold the "6th Fuchu City Machinaka Marathon" on November 29, 2026 (Sun) at the Festival Plaza and its surrounding areas in Fuchu City, Hiroshima Prefecture.

This year marks the 6th iteration of the event, and it will undergo a major renewal.

In addition to continuing the traditional "Relay Marathon" and "Online Marathon," new "Walking" and "Gourmet Festival" events will be held concurrently.

This will evolve the event into a comprehensive "Sports Festival" that anyone, from children to the elderly, can participate in.

Three Major Attractions of This Event

1. A Project to Energize Fuchu Together: Citizens, Companies, and Government

This event is a major festival centered around the "machinaka" (downtown area) of Fuchu.

It's not just about enjoying sports; it's about citizens, local businesses, and the government coming together to foster warm human interaction and community bonds.

We also aim to increase "Fuchu fans" by welcoming many participants from outside the city, and to invigorate the local economy by encouraging visitors to stop by local restaurants, retail stores, and accommodations on their way to and from the event.

2. Major Renewal! Towards a "Festival Everyone Can Enjoy"

This year, the event will be reborn as a "Sports Festival" that anyone can participate in, going beyond the framework of a traditional marathon.

The newly established walking event, "Wonder Walk Bingo Fuchu," allows participants to explore Fuchu City's tourism and culinary attractions while visiting checkpoints using a dedicated app.

Participants of all ages, from children to the elderly, can join.

Furthermore, the "Fuchu Gourmet Festival," with an expanded number of stalls and food booths compared to previous events, will be held concurrently. By combining sports and food, it becomes an event where not only runners but also spectators can enjoy themselves all day long.

3. A Hybrid of "Online" with Luxurious Participation Prizes and "Relay" to Deepen Bonds

The main event, the "Relay Marathon," will feature a special course shortened to approximately 1km per lap, where teams of 4 to 10 runners will pass the baton for 2 hours, allowing runners of various skill levels to deepen their bonds.

There are diverse categories including workplace, general, junior mixed, and elementary school students and under, with a new junior high school student category being introduced this year. Running in costume will also greatly liven up the event.

The "Online Marathon" (event period: November 15 - 29), which can be participated in from anywhere in the country, offers SPINGLE shoes and Fuchu City specialty products as participation prizes, contributing to the nationwide promotion of Fuchu City's charm.
