Bushiroad's Anime Data Insight Lab analyzed 72 Spring 2026 anime (53 new, 19 sequels) using Google Trends (Trend Score) and X posts (Fan Score) over their first 4 weeks. The data shows a contrast between search interest and social media discussions. Sequels dominated Google search, with Re:Zero starting at 75.8 and rising to 93.9. However, new titles showed higher user engagement retention. The median Fan Score retention was 53.7% for new works and 40.4% for sequels. Kamiina Botan, Lonely Space Flower performed exceptionally, achieving 200% Trend retention (8.8 to 17.5) and 137% Fan retention, making it the only new title to exceed 100% in both. By week 4, the Fan Score top 10 inverted from 7 sequels and 3 new works to 3 sequels and 7 new works, as fans actively discussed fresh titles like Kamiina Botan, Yomi no Tsugai, and Kill Blue. The report also highlights Enter-Enter, a free career transition support service specializing in the entertainment industry.
