Brycen Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Brycen) has implemented its AI demand forecasting automated ordering system, 'B-Luck,' for Nodake Shokai Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Nodake Shokai), a food supermarket operator in Okinawa Prefecture, and has commenced operations. This implementation has reduced ordering work time by approximately 30%, achieving a total reduction of 900 work hours per month across all stores.

Background and Context

Nodake Shokai operates the 'Fresh Plaza Union' and 'Union Scala' food supermarkets in Okinawa, focusing on community-based store management.

Previously, ordering tasks were performed individually by personnel for each category, taking approximately 5 hours per day per store, placing a significant burden on the frontline. Furthermore, the personalization of ordering tasks led to issues such as inventory inconsistencies, stockouts, and lost opportunities.

Against this backdrop, B-Luck was introduced as a site-led project. The aim was to shift towards data-based ordering tasks and promote operational standardization.

Effects of Implementation

Through the implementation of B-Luck, the following effects have been confirmed:

・Achieved a total monthly reduction of approximately 900 hours of work across all stores

・Reduced ordering time by approximately 30% (from approx. 5 hours to approx. 3.5 hours per day)

・Reduced the number of staff required for ordering, realizing operational efficiency

・Achieved both stockout suppression and inventory optimization

As a result, store staff are now able to shift their time towards value-added tasks such as floor layout creation and customer service.

Key Points of Implementation

・Phased implementation led by the frontline (deployed starting from pilot stores)

・Ordering reform from a category-based approach to overall optimization

・Elimination of personalization through simple operations

In particular, the simple operational flow—including alarm confirmation, screen verification, and ordering—creates an environment where anyone can perform ordering tasks.

Future Developments

Nodake Shokai aims to further improve ordering accuracy and enhance store management by continuing to leverage sales data. Brycen will continue to support the promotion of DX in the retail industry and achieve both operational efficiency and revenue growth through B-Luck.
