Meteo Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yuji Tahara) will begin distributing new surgical explanation videos on its medical video streaming service, "Medical*Online Video," starting Wednesday, May 27, 2026. "Medical*Online Video" is a service that provides video content on medical procedures and clinical practice for all healthcare professionals and students, including doctors, nurses, physical therapists, clinical laboratory technicians, and radiological technologists. While the service has previously distributed lecture videos for doctors, as well as content on nursing, rehabilitation, medical imaging, clinical laboratory testing, and medical legal consultation, it is now adding "Surgical Explanation Videos." The initial release features five surgical videos in the upper gastrointestinal field, focusing on gastric and esophageal surgery. Additionally, two lecture videos on "RAPN (Robot-Assisted Partial Nephrectomy)," produced under the sponsorship of the Japanese Society of Renal Cancer, will be released. The surgical explanation videos cover various approaches, including laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and thoracoscopic surgery, providing insights into dissection techniques based on membrane anatomy, reconstruction procedures, and surgical field exposure. The surgeries are performed and supervised by experts such as Dr. Soya Nunobe, Dr. Katsu Hayami, and Dr. Jun Kanamori from the Cancer Institute Hospital of JFCR, and Dr. Takashi Fujiwara from Tokyo University of Science. Furthermore, collaborative videos with the journal "Nippon Rinsho" have been added. Medical*Online, launched in 2000, is a pioneer in electronic distribution of domestic medical literature, currently providing access to approximately 1,700 journals and 4.4 million documents, utilized by about 1,700 institutions.
