Yamashita Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shimada City, Shizuoka Prefecture, President and CEO: Kazuhiro Yamashita, hereinafter "Yamashita"), a provider of rental nursing care products and welfare equipment, exhibited at "CHINA AID 2026 (Shanghai International Welfare Expo)" (June 4 (Thu) - 6 (Fri), 2026), China's largest nursing care and welfare exhibition held in Shanghai, China.

This marks Yamashita's sixth participation. This time, themed around a "Silver Life Experience Hall," the company showcased nursing care products across the categories of "Clothing, Food, Housing, Mobility, Health, and AI." In collaboration with 12 Japanese nursing care-related companies, including Umios (formerly Maruha Nichiro), Earth Corporation, and Wellファン, Yamashita introduced Japanese-style nursing care services and products. During the exhibition, many government officials and media representatives visited, and approximately 100 franchise (FC) business negotiations took place, indicating a high level of interest in Japanese-style nursing care services in the Chinese market.

The exhibition booth, "Sangetsurinshu Silver Life Experience Hall," was bustling with many visitors.

Responding to the growing need for hands-on experiences and in-person consultations

China, like Japan, has entered an aging society, and the "Silver Economy" is positioned as a national strategy, with various related policies being introduced to revitalize it. In this context, Yamashita (Shanghai) Eldercare Services Co., Ltd. established a joint venture with Wellファン Co., Ltd., a major domestic wholesaler of nursing care products, in November 2025. This new company began importing and selling Japanese nursing care products and engaging in e-commerce business.

Traditionally, online sales have been the mainstream for nursing care products in China. However, in recent years, the recognition that hands-on experience and assessment (where specialized staff evaluate the user's physical condition, living environment, and care needs to propose optimal nursing care products) are important has spread, leading to increased demand for physical retail stores.

As a new initiative in February 2026, Yamashita collaborated with the local subsidiary of Ito-Yokado Co., Ltd. to open a 200-square-meter retail store, "Sangetsurinshu Silver Life Experience Hall," on the 4th floor of the Ito-Yokado Shuangnan store in Chengdu. This facility provides a space to see and touch major Japanese nursing care products, offers explanations of their functions, allows visitors to experience their use, and provides consultations.

Against this backdrop, this year's exhibition featured nursing care products across the categories of "Clothing, Food, Housing, Mobility, Health, and AI," themed around the Silver Life Experience Hall.
