Localism Activity "Let's Go See the Town's Light, the Life's Light" to be Held on July 4 in Kiyamachi, Kyoto, a Drama Filming Location, for Residents and Travelers to Rediscover the Town Together

LiveALife Inc.'s local help-matching service, Omotena, will co-host a workshop-style tourism activity, "Let's Go See the Town's Light, the Life's Light," with The Chapter Kyoto, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. The fourth installment of this event will take place in the Kiyamachi area, a place that breathes with filming locations from the NHK drama "Kyotojin no Hisokana Tanoshimi."

Omotena, with its slogan "Enjoy local Japan more!," is a service that proposes discovering local charm from a resident's perspective, setting it apart from conventional tours. Amid challenges of overtourism, this activity aims for tourists and local residents to re-examine the "light of daily life" and think about sustainable tourism together.

The event will feature guest sisters Misako and Mikiko Akimoto, who moved to Kyoto from Hokkaido out of their love for the drama. They will share the charm of Kiyamachi from their residents' viewpoint. All participants will then create a map of the area and actually explore the town.

Workshop Details [Part 1: Lunch & Mapping] While enjoying a special one-plate lunch at the restaurant "Chapter The Grill," participants will create a walking map based on the guests' stories.

[Part 2: Town Walk & Reflection] Participants will freely explore the Kiyamachi area with the map they created. Afterwards, they will return to the hotel to share their discoveries over a dessert of crème brûlée made with Ippodo Tea's hojicha.
