We have continuously worked to improve the heat dissipation efficiency in order to further enhance the cooling performance of Peltier devices. As a result of these efforts, our technology is now adopted in over half of the Peltier wear distributed by workwear manufacturers in Japan.
We are honored to have received the Reiwa 8 "Aichi Invention Award" in recognition of our technological development and its achievements.
While many award recipients are from the development departments of major companies representing the Chubu region, it is a great encouragement for our venture company to receive such an honorable award. With this award as motivation, all of our employees will strive to develop even better products and technologies, and work even harder to deliver new value to everyone.
A Message from Kunihiko Horii, President and CEO We, Libre Inc., are deeply honored to have received the Reiwa 8 Aichi Prefecture Invention Award. We are extremely honored to receive such a prestigious award. First and foremost, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone at the Aichi Invention Association, the judges, and to our customers, business partners, and employees who have supported us daily.
Since our founding, we at Libre have continued our business with the belief of "manufacturing that benefits people." In doing so, we have faced a major challenge: "heat." In recent years, Japanese summers have become more severe than ever before. Many people who support society, including those working at construction sites, factories, logistics warehouses, in agriculture, and in event management, are working at the risk of their lives.
The number of people transported due to heatstroke increases every year, and sometimes precious lives are lost. Witnessing this reality, we began research and development of wearable cooling devices around 2008 with a strong desire to "create technology that protects people from the heat." The technology that received this award is an invention that dramatically improves the heat dissipation efficiency of Peltier cooling wear. Peltier elements cool using electricity, but how to dissipate the heat generated at the same time determines their performance. We have achieved a structure that balances cooling performance and wearing comfort at a high level through countless prototypes and verifications. It was by no means an easy path. We failed many times and started over many times. The reason we didn't give up was the voices of our customers.
"It was a great help," "It's indispensable on the job in midsummer," "I can't work without it." Those words were our driving force. Currently, our cooling technology is utilized at sites across the country, supporting many working people. However, our challenge has just begun. In the coming era, heat countermeasures will not be merely a pursuit of comfort. We believe it will become infrastructure that protects lives.
Therefore, in addition to cooling technology, we are also engaged in research and development of: heatstroke prediction technology, wearable sensing technology, and AI-based health management technology. In the future, aiming for "zero deaths due to heat," we want to build a new heat countermeasures platform that connects people and technology.
Aichi Prefecture is a center of manufacturing that the world can be proud of. As a company born in this land of Aichi, we will challenge not only Japan but also the world. Solving the world's heat problems with Japanese technology. That is the mission of our company, Libre Inc.
