Lead Create Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumiya Akatsuka), which supports the selection and development of leaders centered on talent assessments, conducted the 'Assessment Program Usage Survey 2026' from January 16 to February 13, 2026, targeting 99 companies that have introduced center-method assessments.
The survey revealed that 86.9% of the companies showed high satisfaction with the assessment results, confirming its effectiveness in deepening participants' self-understanding and establishing common evaluation criteria. On the other hand, there is a growing need for process design and frontline coordination to utilize data across the organization and connect it to management decisions. It has become clear that evolving assessments from 'evaluation and reflection tools' to 'mechanisms that lead to decision-making' is the next major challenge.
The disclosure of human capital information in financial reports became mandatory for listed companies starting the fiscal year ending March 2023, with requirements further expanding from the fiscal year ending March 2026. Against the backdrop of these rising standards, how to accumulate and utilize human capital data to connect with management decisions and talent strategies has become a crucial theme for HR departments.
Highlighting the survey results, assessments are highly effective in deepening self-understanding and standardizing evaluation criteria. The most frequently cited benefit was 'participants are able to objectively recognize their own strengths and weaknesses' (80.8%). The primary areas of application are 'career development and supporting individual awareness' (77.8%) and 'improving the quality of promotion and placement decisions' (60.6%).
While talent data is mainly shared with the participants themselves (92.9%) and their direct managers (86.9%), integration with talent management systems is still in its early stages. The topics of greatest interest for companies moving forward are 'promoting individual behavioral change and career autonomy' (53.5%) and 'utilization for succession planning and talent pool management' (50.5%). There is a strong expectation for assessments to evolve into a foundation that connects talent development with organizational strategy.
Based on these survey results, Lead Create Inc. aims to improve program design and operations so that assessment outcomes are continuously utilized in the workplace, thereby contributing to the sustainable growth of client companies.
