(Headquarters: Shenzhen, China; President & Co-Founder: Kentaro Ari), targeting Japanese students enrolled in universities in Shanghai, including Fudan University (World University Rankings 26th) and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (World University Rankings 36th) [Note 1].

Background of Participation in the Event

In recent years, with the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, recruitment activities in Japan have tended to return to offline formats. This has made information gathering for job hunting a challenge for Japanese students enrolled in overseas universities.

In particular, students attending universities in Asia have expressed concerns such as, "Large-scale job hunting events are often held in North America and Europe, and there are no satisfactory places to gather information." In addition to the difficulty of participating in recruitment events in Japan due to physical distance, opportunities to learn about company information and recruitment trends are limited, widening the information gap with students residing in Japan.

In light of this situation, FORMULA Consulting in China planned a job hunting event for Japanese students enrolled in Shanghai universities to provide them with opportunities to connect with Japanese companies and gather fair information. ONE CAREER agreed with the company's desire to "pave the way for the careers of Japanese students" and was responsible for the planning and on-site operation of this event as a supporting company.

The main part of the event began with a job hunting kick-off seminar by ONE CAREER employees. The seminar provided practical explanations tailored to the challenges often faced by students at overseas universities, including job hunting information gathering techniques, industry and company research methods, and career building.

Following this, a cross-talk session was held with Japanese alumni from Fudan University, who shared realistic experiences from their job hunting journeys. Subsequently, participating companies gave presentations, each highlighting their company's strengths and expectations for global talent.

Finally, participating students were divided into groups for a discussion session with representatives from the companies. This provided an opportunity for direct dialogue with company representatives regarding job hunting strategies and specific career development.

The event served as a highly engaging matching opportunity for both students and companies, as excellent students studying in world-class environments were able to interact closely with company representatives, resulting in high satisfaction from the students.
