HITOHATA,INC. (Representative Director: Takeaki Higashiyama) announced that the 'Moving Yokai Exhibition TOKYO ~Imagination of Japan~' (held from March 27 to June 28, 2026, at Warehouse Terrada G1 Building in Shinagawa, Tokyo) has surpassed 80,000 visitors and held a commemorative ceremony.
The 80,000th visitors were a family from Kanagawa Prefecture, who were presented with original merchandise such as muffler towels as commemorative gifts. Visitors have shared positive feedback, expressing interest in the diverse characteristics and storylines of the Yokai, the appeal of combining video with 3D modeling, and the opportunity to learn history through authentic Ukiyo-e prints.
This exhibition is the world's first immersive experiential digital art museum where visitors can become immersed in Japan's proud Yokai art, such as 'Hyakki Yagyo Emaki' and 'Tsukumogami', through cutting-edge video technology and 3D modeling. Utilizing digital technologies like 3DCG and projection mapping alongside realistic 3D modeling, it dynamically recreates the world of Yokai.
Furthermore, with the cooperation of the Nishio City Iwase Bunko Library, Japan's first antique book museum, and the Yokai Art Museum in Shodoshima, the exhibition provides explanations of Yokai art and introduces its cultural and historical background. It is a new sensation art entertainment exhibition where everyone from adults to children can 'enjoy, learn, and experience' Yokai culture.
