"Ukiyo-e On The Move" is an immersive, experiential digital art museum where visitors can immerse themselves in the world of ukiyo-e across multiple 3D projection spaces. It is based on over 300 works by world-renowned ukiyo-e artists such as Hokusai Katsushika, Kuniyoshi Utagawa, Hiroshige Utagawa, Utamaro Kitagawa, Sharaku Toshusai, and Kunisada Utagawa, reimagined as graphical digital art pieces enjoyable for all ages through 3DCG animation and projection mapping.

To date, it has been held in Nagoya, Milan (Italy), Kagoshima, Tokyo, Fukuoka, Taipei (Taiwan), Osaka, Kaohsiung (Taiwan), and France, attracting over 500,000 visitors.

Additionally, "Ukiyo-e On The Move" received the Excellence Award in the Project Division of the "CJPF Award 2025" hosted by the Cool Japan Public-Private Partnership Platform (Secretariat: Intellectual Property Strategy Headquarters, Cabinet Office).

Photography and videography are permitted throughout the venue, allowing visitors to capture stunning images as they dive into the fantastical world of ukiyo-e.

Special Exhibition Commentary Exclusive to "Ukiyo-e On The Move HIROSHIMA" Venue

At the "Ukiyo-e On The Move HIROSHIMA" venue, in addition to exhibiting precious ukiyo-e depicting the land of Hiroshima, we will present commentary exhibitions that interpret Hiroshima's unique context through the artworks.

The actual ukiyo-e exhibits will include special displays such as "Toyotomi Gun Koki: Miyajima Daikassen no Zu" by Yoshitoshi Tsukioka depicting the Battle of Miyajima, "Saigoku Meisho Zue: Bingo Tomo no Minato" by Sadahide Utagawa depicting Tomonoura, and "Rokujūyo Shū Meisho Zue: Aki Itsukushima Sairei no Zu" (reprint) by Hiroshige Utagawa depicting Itsukushima Shrine.

Furthermore, a commentary on Kuniyoshi Utagawa's "Kingyo Tsudushi" series, filled with humor and playfulness, fitting for the "City of Water - Hiroshima" that has lived alongside water, will be exclusively available at the Hiroshima venue.
