Sekai Bunka Publishing Co., Ltd. will release "Invisible Garden," an art book by contemporary artist Asami Kiyokawa, on September 3, 2026. Kiyokawa is highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally for her unique artistic expression, which involves applying embroidery to photographs, magazines, and fabrics. This book compiles the thoughts and sensibilities she has cultivated over her 25-year creative career.

Through its unique structure, which guides the reader from the artworks to the underlying thoughts and sensibilities, this book offers a glimpse into the original landscape of creation that might not be apparent from simply viewing the works, fostering imagination. Furthermore, Kiyokawa shares her methods for "opening up imagination" developed through years of workshops. This is a new kind of art book that encourages us to re-examine human sensibility and imagination, especially in the age of AI.

Contemporary Artist Asami Kiyokawa: "The Perspective of Creation" Cultivated Over 25 Years

The book is structured to naturally lead the reader not only to the finished works but also to the thoughts, sensibilities, and accumulated ideas behind them. It is a new form of art book that fosters each individual's imagination while allowing readers to experience the original landscape of creation that they might not have noticed just by looking at the artworks.

"Imagination" That Can Be Cultivated Especially in the Age of AI

With the advancement of AI, we have entered an era where knowledge and information are easily accessible to anyone. This book presents perspectives that connect small discoveries in daily life to imagination, as well as art activities that foster creativity, which Kiyokawa has practiced in her workshops for many years. It is for those who wish to "cultivate their own sensibilities further" or "develop their children's imagination." Instead of providing answers, it offers hints for nurturing the ability to feel, think, and express independently.

Contemporary Artist, Educator, Mother: "New Art Education" Delivered from Three Perspectives

While continuing her activities as a contemporary artist both domestically and internationally, Asami Kiyokawa also engages in education as a visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts and is a mother of two. This book brings together the "ways to open up imagination" that she has cultivated through her experiences in creation, education, and parenting. It also includes discussions with AI researcher Kazuya Ogawa and Kyoto University of Art and Design President Toru Oyamada. They consider the future of humanity and creativity in the age of AI from multiple perspectives.
