Ibasen Co., Ltd., a long-established store for fans and uchiwa (Japanese round fans) founded in 1590, will host pop-up shops and fan-painting workshops at two locations in Paris, France.

This initiative is part of a project to share craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibilities inherited from the Edo period with the world. Ibasen has been continuously hosting pop-up shops in Paris, and this marks the third occurrence. The company is dedicated to promoting traditional Japanese crafts not only as a culture of 'appreciation' but as a culture to be 'enjoyed in daily life.'

For this pop-up, Ibasen will feature different perspectives at two stores: 'ADELINE KLAM,' which focuses on traditional patterns such as ukiyo-e motifs, and 'DEJIMA STORE PARIS,' which focuses on modern designs of Edo sensu (Edo-style fans). Following the previous event, fan-painting workshops will also be held. By experiencing the act of painting a fan, the company aims to communicate the appeal of Japanese craftsmanship in an experiential way.
