IDIC (Headquarters: Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture), a group company of Osaka-ya Shop (Headquarters: Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture), has announced the completion of its new logistics hub, the "Imizu Distribution Center" (hereinafter, Imizu DC), which has been under development in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture. It will begin phased operations from June 2026.
A completion ceremony will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, along with a facility tour for stakeholders.
The Imizu DC is scheduled for full-scale operation from July and will be the company's first large-scale logistics center equipped with the latest automated warehouse functions, serving as a logistics base to support the group's future growth strategy.
At Imizu DC, we will proceed with the reconstruction of our logistics infrastructure, with the latest automated warehouse at its core. Warehouse operations will be optimized comprehensively, including facilities, systems, and management, through collaboration with 3PL provider Asahi Logistics Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture), achieving both labor-saving and improved processing capacity.
The objectives of the Imizu DC are: (1) reconstruction of the back system to support Osaka-ya Shop Group's growth strategy, (2) improvement of logistics quality, and (3) support for future store openings and merchandising (MD). It combines inventory and distribution functions for ambient temperature products, optimizing everything from product procurement to store delivery. Furthermore, by introducing the latest automated warehouse system, automation of inbound/outbound, storage, and picking processes has been achieved. This will improve operational efficiency and address labor shortages while enhancing logistics quality such as inventory management and shipping accuracy.
The Osaka-ya Shop Group will continue to strive for further service improvements and aims to create stores and a foundation that bring smiles to more customers, together with our supporting business partners.
