Fujibow Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Representative Director: Naruhito Okada) will launch "Fujibow Waterproofing Training," a practical training program aimed at improving craftsmen's skills and site management capabilities.
This program is implemented as part of our human resource development initiatives to foster an environment where craftsmen can work in good health, both mentally and physically, and grow long-term, in conjunction with our ongoing "Health & Productivity Management" certification and our newly registered "Craftsmen Lively Declaration."
In addition to the technical staff from our group companies, Fujibow and Rainbow, participants will include members from local partner companies in Yokosuka, totaling 15 individuals who will systematically learn knowledge, skills, and site management capabilities related to waterproofing construction.

[Background of Initiatives] From Creating a Better Working Environment to Providing a Place for Growth
In the construction and waterproofing industry, with challenges such as an aging workforce and labor shortages, nurturing the next generation of talent is becoming increasingly important.
Based on the philosophy that "people support the company, and craftsmen support the site," we have been working to create an environment where craftsmen can work with peace of mind, both mentally and physically, for a long time.
As one of these initiatives, we have continuously received "Health & Productivity Management" certification and have recently obtained the "Craftsmen Lively Declaration," which promotes improvements in the working environment and job satisfaction for craftsmen.
While promoting the creation of a secure working environment, we recognized the need for educational opportunities where each craftsman can hone their skills, enhance their on-site decision-making abilities, and grow into leaders who can support sites in the future.
Therefore, we planned the training program "Fujibow Waterproofing Training" to systematically learn everything from the basics of waterproofing construction to advanced techniques and site management knowledge.
Features of "Fujibow Waterproofing Training"
1. Practical Curriculum to Enhance Technical and Site Management Skills
This training systematically covers the fundamental knowledge required for waterproofing craftsmen, understanding various waterproofing methods, practical application, waterproofing inspections, specification selection, cost estimation and quotation preparation, and reporting.
Our aim is to develop personnel who not only enhance their waterproofing construction skills but can also correctly assess building conditions, devise appropriate methods, and understand the entire site.
Furthermore, by learning knowledge related to cost estimation and management directly linked to site management, participants will cultivate both "site capabilities" that support construction quality and "profitability" necessary for proper project operation.
2. Step-by-Step Learning Combining Lectures and Practical Training
The curriculum includes lectures on waterproofing basics, history, and various materials/methods, as well as practical training in modified asphalt sheet waterproofing, vinyl chloride resin waterproofing, urethane rubber-based coating waterproofing, and sealing.
In the latter half, participants will learn about waterproofing inspections, confirmation of deterioration and details, report writing, specification selection, cost estimation and quotation preparation, material calculation, and reporting on quotation details.
This approach aims to develop personnel who can be active on-site by understanding the entire process from inspection to proposal, construction, and reporting, not just acquiring construction techniques.
3. Regional Co-creation: A System for Learning Together with Yokosuka's Partner Companies
This training is open not only to craftsmen from our group companies but also to our partner companies in Yokosuka.
By having regional craftsmen learn together in the same venue, we aim to improve the overall construction quality in the Yokosuka area and strengthen cooperative relationships based on trust.
The work of protecting buildings is not something that can be completed by a single company. It is supported by the skills and sense of responsibility of many craftsmen, partner companies, and stakeholders involved in the site.
By learning and growing together with regional partner companies, we will provide safer and higher quality construction to the region.
Future Outlook
We are committed to contributing to the future of the sustainable construction and waterproofing industry by valuing both an environment where craftsmen can work in good health and educational opportunities that allow them to grow with pride.
Through "Fujibow Waterproofing Training," we will continue to foster the next generation of waterproofing craftsmen and, in collaboration with regional partner companies as well as our own, aim to improve the overall construction quality in the Yokosuka area.
