Tomogawa Corporation announced that its 'Flexible Planar Heater iCas MHE' has been verified to have an energy-saving performance of over 20% compared to conventional mantle heaters in the Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) project conducted by the Ministry of the Environment. In the technical verification test, a reduction of approximately 42% was confirmed. The ETV project is a program where third parties objectively verify the environmental conservation effects of advanced environmental technologies that have already been commercialized. The 'Flexible Planar Heater iCas MHE' is our proprietary planar heating element using a stainless steel fiber sheet. Due to its high flexibility, it can be heated in close contact with the object to be heated, such as pipes and curved surfaces. Because it has uniform heating characteristics across the entire surface, it is ideal for heating curved surfaces and narrow spaces in various equipment, such as factory piping and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. In this verification, power consumption and other factors were measured under conditions simulating actual operation, and efficient heat transfer and uniform heating were confirmed. Moving forward, we will leverage the knowledge gained from this verification to propose further applications and expand the fields of application, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
