Nihon Biotech Co., Ltd., which operates sea grape cultivation, processing, and Japan's first sea grape theme park 'Uminchi' in Okinawa, is launching 'Okinawa-style Shabu-Shabu' featuring 'freshly harvested, heaping' sea grapes under the theme of 'Wellness Travel x Okinawa Summer Gourmet.' This menu is a new type of Okinawa summer cuisine where you can enjoy Uminchi-grown sea grapes and Okinawa-produced Agu pork in a shabu-shabu style, proposed as a 'refreshing gourmet' dish that can be enjoyed even in the hot season. Within the facility, a variety of food menus are available, including sea grape egg-over-rice and soft-serve ice cream. Furthermore, there are experiential contents where you can learn while actually touching the sea grapes, allowing you to experience the charm of sea grapes through 'seeing, touching, and tasting.' In recent years, due to growing interest in countermeasures against body cooling from air conditioning and summer fatigue, the eating habit of 'summer warm food,' where people intentionally choose warm dishes, has been attracting attention. Against this background, we are proposing Okinawa-style shabu-shabu, which combines sea grapes and Agu pork, as a new food option that can be enjoyed refreshingly even in summer. The dish, which offers freshly harvested sea grapes from our own farm in a heaping portion combined with the Okinawa brand Agu pork, features a popping texture and a light taste from the shabu-shabu method, making it easy to enjoy even in summer when appetite tends to drop.
