Nisshin Seifun Welna certified as a DX-certified business operator by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry

Nisshin Seifun Group's Nisshin Seifun Welna Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhiko Iwahashi) was certified as a "DX-certified business operator" on June 1 this year under the DX (Digital Transformation) certification system established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). This is the fourth certification in the Nisshin Seifun Group, following Nisshin Seifun Group Holdings Co., Ltd., Nisshin Seifun Co., Ltd., and Tokatsu Foods Co., Ltd.

What is the DX certification system?

The DX certification system is a certification system based on the "Act on the Promotion of Information Processing." It certifies businesses that are prepared to promote DX by responding to the basic items of the "Digital Governance Code," which summarizes the actions required of managers in light of social transformation through digital technology.

Purpose of DX promotion at Nisshin Seifun Welna

As a core company responsible for the food business of the Nisshin Seifun Group, we have set a digital strategy and are promoting DX with pillars of "automation/efficiency," "standardization," "strengthening customer proposal capabilities," and "strengthening production and development competitiveness." Through the use of systems and applications and enhanced security, we aim to optimize the value chain, improve productivity, and create new value.

Initiatives of Nisshin Seifun Welna's "Digital Strategy"

Under its digital strategy aimed at strengthening competitiveness, the company has already developed and introduced an "AI-based automated supply and demand management system for frozen foods" (see reference) to improve productivity and optimize supply and demand. In addition, it has promoted visualization of production processes using IoT and AI, and digitization of production management forms. Furthermore, to further strengthen these efforts, the company is actively working to develop human resources with high skills in the digital field.

In June last year, the company established a DX Promotion Department to flexibly promote digital utilization measures for various business issues. The company will continue its proactive efforts and achieve visible results.
