Tofusha Inc. (Hiroshima City, Representative Director: Yohei Koumoto), a corporate training provider, is pleased to announce the release of a new Marketing Edition for its immersive training program "Future Story," where participants become the protagonists and make decisions. This new edition complements the existing New Business Development Edition.

This training is characterized by its interactivity, where the story progresses based on the participant's choices and proposals. In recent years, there have been many requests for "learning robust marketing, not just temporary buzz," leading to the development of the "Marketing Edition." Participants can simulate the entire process of developing and launching a new product through stages such as market research and concept development.

Features of "Future Story (Marketing Edition)"

Immersion as a Protagonist

Participants are given the mission of new product development and immerse themselves in the thought and action processes through the story. As the protagonist, they constantly consider "What would I do?" fostering a high sense of ownership.

Continuous Decisions, Activated Dialogue

In the training, participants earn "coins" (points) based on their choices and actions within the story, and teams compete for the highest coin count. By deeply discussing "How do we think, and why do we make this decision?" within their teams, communication and facilitation skills are improved.

Learning Directly Linked to Practical Work

This is not just textbook knowledge; participants must think and answer questions like "How do I use this framework in this situation?" or "Which marketing choice is appropriate?" The learning is directly linked to practical work, and results are recorded as coins, dramatically improving the quality of reflection.

Overview of "Future Story" Training

You are the third-generation owner of a manufacturing company. Your current president, your parent, has ordered you to develop a new product. Despite generating various ideas, they are rejected by the supervising consultant... Why is that?

You can learn "real, living theories" in practical marketing.

The training proceeds with the following three elements:

Story: The narrative progresses.

Lecture: A lecture by the instructor, similar to general training.

Challenge: Teams work on tasks such as "Choose from 4 options" or "Devise a new product." Teams compete by earning "coins" based on their performance.

Implementation Overview

- Generally, 3-4 people per team, team-based competition.

- A screen or monitor visible to all participants is required.

- Online training is also supported.

- Duration: Three options available - 7 hours, 3 hours, and 1.5 hours. (Time and content can be adjusted for all options).

Participant Testimonials

I previously had only a superficial understanding of frameworks, but now I understand how to use them in practical work.

Having to "make my own choices" led to a higher level of understanding than just listening. It seems applicable to my actual job.

I had a lot of fun learning. The thorough explanations increased my understanding. The statement that management and business are a series of situations with no right answers was particularly memorable.

When discussing in groups, I realized the need to concisely and clearly explain my thoughts to convince my colleagues.

*From the preceding program (New Business Development Edition)

Yohei Koumoto

【Profile】

After graduating from Hitotsubashi University, he worked in marketing, corporate planning, and overseas business for foreign and domestic department store cosmetic brands. He then transitioned to become a management consultant and training instructor, founding Tofusha Inc.

He has guided over 5,000 people at more than 300 companies. Through this experience, he realized that learning effectiveness is significantly enhanced by the enjoyment and engagement during the process. He developed "Sweet Market," which teaches marketing through board games, and "Future Story," which teaches through stories. He has authored 5 books and his marketing book reached #1 in its Amazon category.

Development History

Inspired by Gamebooks

This "Future Story" was inspired by "gamebooks," which I loved as a child.

The idea was that if participants could become the "protagonist" of the story, not just a "recipient," and if the story changed based on their choices, they might be able to engage in training with the same level of enthusiasm.

Due to the nature of training, branching storylines are difficult, so I incorporated the excitement of "coin counts fluctuating based on choices and actions."

Addressing Weaknesses of Existing Training

This training simulates the process of business and new product development. This adds realism to the "challenges and difficulties" that cannot be obtained from lectures alone, such as the complexities and conflicts of practical work.

Especially in practical marketing, the process is not always as straightforward as described in books. This training is packed with the realities of "how people actually think and act."
