Umemori Honten, a 55-year-old established brand, to open its first Kyoto direct-managed store 'Sushi Kyoto Umemori' on June 1st

Umemori Honten Co., Ltd., based in Nara, will grand open its first direct-managed store in Kyoto, 'Sushi Kyoto Umemori,' on June 1, 2026, in Shijo-Horikawa. This flagship store combines the traditional 'Temari Sushi' techniques cultivated since its founding with the seasonal colors of Kyoto, offering a new Japanese dining experience that is 'visually appealing, photogenic, and worth talking about.' We aim to provide visitors from around the world with a unique culinary memory of Kyoto.

Located at Shijo-Horikawa, a key intersection connecting Nijo Castle, Nishi Honganji Temple, and Kyoto Station, the site is perfect for delivering an authentic 'Kyoto-style dining experience' to both domestic and international tourists. The star of the menu is 'Temari Sushi,' where each piece is infused with seasonal ingredients and Kyoto's vibrant colors. We have balanced traditional craftsmanship with the 'shareable elegance' that modern customers seek.

We offer five courses for lunch and dinner to meet various needs, including tourism, anniversaries, and business. Additionally, we plan to open the 'Umemori Sushi School Kyoto Branch' within the same building.
