Bairindo, a historic confectionery company founded in 1864 and based in Saitama, has announced the sixth year of its "Connections Born from Design" project, which aims to foster new bonds through collaborations with creators. This year's partner is textile designer Kanako Kamiya, founder of the original brand "emoemo."

The Theme: "A Cheerful Everyday" This year's theme is "Always Cheerful." Featuring Kamiya's tree frog character, "Elka-chan," as the ambassador, the collection expresses the joy of a cheerful life, whether rainy or sunny.

Limited Edition Product Details The company's flagship product, the soft sablé "Yawaraka Gold Plain," will be sold in two limited-edition package designs.

- **Product Name: "A Fun Rainy Day" -Cheer Up!-** - Contents: 6 Yawaraka Gold Plain sablés - Price: 980 JPY (tax included) - Concept: Depicts Elka-chan singing with friends on a rainy day.

- **Product Name: "After a Fun Rain" -Thank You Always-** - Contents: 6 Yawaraka Gold Plain sablés - Price: 980 JPY (tax included) - Concept: Shows Elka-chan going out with her little brother, Elun, after the rain.

The products will be available from Wednesday, May 20, at all 39 Bairindo stores, excluding the Ekiα Koshigaya location.

About the "Yawaraka Gold Plain" Sablé This is Bairindo's most popular product, selling over 10 million units annually. Made with carefully selected butter, it is a moist-textured sablé beloved by all ages, from children to the elderly.

About Designer Kanako Kamiya Self-taught as an artist, Kamiya established her textile brand "emoemo" in 2010. Her work, known for its unique color palettes, has gained popularity, leading to pop-up stores in department stores and various corporate collaborations. In the summer of 2025, she published her first picture book, "The Midnight Bakery."
