A Sendai-native mixed martial artist. He began wrestling in third grade and has also trained in Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu.

He made his professional MMA debut in 2016. In 2019, he became the youngest champion in the history of the MMA organization "DEEP" at 18.

In 2022, he also won a belt in the American MMA organization "CFFC." Currently with a record of 22 wins, 5 losses, and 1 draw, he is considered a "rough diamond of Japan" who will lead the next generation of RIZIN.

He will challenge current champion Hiromasa Ougikubo for the belt in the RIZIN Flyweight Title Match at Xebio Arena Sendai on Saturday, June 6.

Hello, this is MMA fighter Makoto Shinryu.

I am truly honored to have been given the opportunity to throw the ceremonial pitch for the Rakuten Eagles in my hometown of Sendai.

I personally experienced the earthquake and went through some tough times, but I was able to fulfill my dream of becoming a professional fighter.
