Rakuten Eagles to Host 'Ganbarou Tohoku Rokken Matsuri' Cultural Festival from June 9-14, 2026

Rakuten Baseball, Inc. (Headquarters: Sendai, Miyagi; President: Seiji Morii) has announced the 'Ganbarou Tohoku Rokken Matsuri' (Six-Prefecture Festival) to be held during the official games at Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi from June 9 to 14, 2026.

Marking 15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, the event aims to keep memories alive and project energy from Tohoku under the message 'Ganbarou Tohoku' (Stay Strong, Tohoku). The stadium's front plaza will feature a 'Tohoku Rokken Yagura' tower and festive displays from across the region.

### Key Highlights - **Cultural Displays:** Exhibits including Hirosaki Neputa (Aomori), Morioka Sansa Odori (Iwate), Tanabata Streamers (Miyagi), Kanto Lanterns (Akita), Hanagasa Odori (Yamagata), and Waraji Sandals (Fukushima). - **Daily Live Performances:** Traditional dances and music from different prefectures will be performed daily on the field and stage. - **Workshops:** Hands-on experiences such as Kokeshi doll painting, Akabeko cow painting, and making Namahage masks. - **Gourmet Festival:** A dedicated area offering iconic local dishes from each of the six Tohoku prefectures. - **Big Flag Ceremony:** A special ceremony on June 14 featuring participants born in 2011, the year of the disaster.
