Art buying specialist Baku Co., Ltd. conducted a survey of 272 individuals regarding their motives for selling artworks. The results revealed a distinct gender divide: men primarily sell items they no longer need or seek to liquidate assets for cash, viewing art as a form of investment. In contrast, women are significantly more likely to sell due to estate settlements or home organization. While both value specialized expertise when choosing a dealer, men prioritize response speed while women emphasize polite service and location.
