[Notice of Sending Open Questionnaire] Formal Request to MHLW, Osaka City Health Center, and NIHS for Disclosure of 'Evidence that Red Yeast Rice Contained Puberulic Acid'

Kunsei Club Co., Ltd. has sent an open questionnaire to the Food Monitoring and Safety Division of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW), the Osaka City Health Center, and the National Institute of Health Sciences (NIHS), stating that it has confirmed significant facts after scrutinizing the results of information disclosure requests made since the 2024 incident. The company claims that, based on the disclosed documents, the only material regarding the identification of 'puberulic acid' was provided by Kobayashi Pharmaceutical, and no documents exist showing that administrative agencies independently identified it scientifically. Furthermore, the company asserts that there is no direct scientific evidence confirming the presence of puberulic acid in the target products, and that some documents even suggest it might not have been present, leading them to demand the disclosure of scientific evidence.
