Hit TV Anime "The World Is Dancing" Featuring Zeami, Master of Noh, Comes to the Noh Theater! "Noh & Animation Experience TOKYO 2026" Announced!

This summer, an immersive event packed with the charms of Noh and the latest animation will open at the Kanze Noh Theater!

The TV anime "The World Is Dancing," which is drawing attention for its story of Zeami's childhood, when he was still called Oniyasha, and his journey to perfect Noh during the Muromachi period. This special event, inspired by the vibrant world of this story that tackles the theme "Why do people dance?" and creates great emotional impact, will be held at the Kanze Noh Theater, the hallowed hall of Noh!

This event features Saburota Kanze, the eldest son of Kiyokazu Kanze, the 26th Head of the Kanze School and a direct descendant of Zeami, as the Special Ambassador. Together with popular voice actors, he will fully convey the appeal of traditional arts and the latest animation.

We have prepared a variety of programs in two spaces, the stage and the lobby, to explore the charms of Noh and animation!

- In the stage area, in addition to movie screenings, Noh performers, voice actors, and anime production staff will appear to discuss the appeal of Noh and share behind-the-scenes stories about the anime. - In the workshops, you will learn about Noh masks and see beautiful dances, as well as experience Noh movements and gestures!

- In the lobby area, there will be an experience booth where you can try on authentic Noh masks, as well as displays of giant anime panels and original drawings from "The World Is Dancing."

This event is multilingual and can be enjoyed by international visitors.

Based on the manga

"The World Is Dancing" by Kazuto Mihara, originally serialized in the weekly MORNING magazine published by KODANSHA Ltd. from 2021 to 2022. The acclaimed series has been collected in six volumes and is currently available digitally through Comic DAYS and Magazine Pocket (MagaPoke) by KODANSHA Ltd.

TV Anime

The TV anime adaptation premiered in July 2026 and is currently airing on TOKYO MX (Thursdays at 10:00 p.m.) and BS Asahi (Fridays at 11:00 p.m.), as well as on seven additional television networks across Japan. The series is also available on major streaming platforms.
