Kurano-ma is a fully reservation-only restaurant with only two seating sets available for lunch and dinner each, utilizing a historic kura (storehouse) preserved within the 'Unagi Ryori Edogawa Naramachi,' a restaurant housed in a machiya townhouse over 140 years old.

In this tranquil, timeless space in Naramachi, Nara, artisans from Edogawa dedicate their skills exclusively to this course. The aroma, sizzling sounds, and rising steam from dishes prepared right before guests’ eyes elevate each course, transporting visitors into an extraordinary, otherworldly dining experience.

The revamped kaiseki course leverages Edogawa’s decades-honed techniques to express the diverse appeal of a single eel through a curated multi-course format. Kurano-ma offers a unique culinary experience that redefines how unagi can be enjoyed—perfect for intimate gatherings, business entertaining, celebrations, or as a premium hospitality offering for inbound tourists.
