The Japan Management Development Association (JMDA) / Kansai Management Administration Association (KMCA) will hold an on-site training session at the social welfare corporation Gasshoen on Friday, August 21, 2026.

This training will provide an in-depth, on-site look at Gasshoen’s management reform, organizational development, and practice of philosophy-based management, which earned the organization the Grand Prize in the 2025 Japan Management Quality Awards.

Gasshoen is well-known in the local community as the place to turn to for help. By upholding the philosophy of "Making everyone involved happy," it has continuously overturned conventional norms in the nursing care industry. The organization has focused on creating a comfortable work environment through initiatives like transitioning to complete private bathing, implementing long-term leave systems, fully separating day and night shifts, achieving over 80% paid leave utilization, and supporting the retention of foreign human resources. Consequently, it has achieved both improved service quality and high staff retention, attracting visitors from all over Japan across various industries.

The event will feature a lecture by Board Chair Kazunari Mori, followed by a facility tour and a Q&A session. Participants will specifically learn about mechanisms for integrating company philosophy, field-led improvement activities, and service enhancement strategies.

Key Highlights: ● Building an organization that achieves the penetration of philosophy ● Work-style reform that enhances 'employee happiness' ● Workplace development where women and foreign personnel thrive ● Transition from 'mechanical bathing' to 'complete private bathing' at nursing homes ● Amoeba management to achieve productivity improvement ● Service improvement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction
