[Japan's Best Starry Sky] Achi Village, Nagano Launches 'ACHI GIBIER' Deer Jerky for Pets

The Achi Village Gibier Processing Facility Management Association in Achi Village, Nagano, known for having the best starry sky in Japan, will begin selling 'ACHI GIBIER' deer jerky for pets on June 1, 2026. Achi Village has faced serious agricultural and forestry damage caused by wild animals, which has led to a decline in farming and forestry motivation. To mitigate this damage, the village has promoted the capture of deer and sold the meat for human and pet consumption. However, a challenge remained as some parts were difficult to sell and were discarded. By processing the meat into pet jerky, the village aims to further utilize these resources and promote the game meat industry, thereby supporting agriculture and forestry through continued capture efforts. The product will be sold at the ACHI BASE tourist facility and Hirugami Kiosk. The logo features the starry sky, mountains, and a deer, symbolizing the village's commitment to delivering the life nurtured by Achi's nature.
