Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin is conducting its first major renovation in 11 years, covering the 'Main Building B2' (confectionery and bakery) and 'East Building B2' (deli and fresh food) from May to autumn 2026. The renovation will refresh about 70% of the main building floor through the introduction of over 20 new brands and the renovation of existing ones. The second phase in June features the Kyushu debut of 'TEA BREAK,' a baked goods specialty store known for its rich butter aroma, alongside the reopening of eight other stores. On June 17, 'TEA BREAK' will open, offering oatmeal cookies, pies, and sablés. On the same day, 'Morozoff' and 'Mannekenpis' will reopen with limited-edition sweets using Fukuoka's Amaou strawberries. On June 24, 'Chidoriya' and 'Josuian' will reopen with expanded store spaces and enhanced product lineups. The concept is 'The HUB of KYUSHU,' aiming to be a place where local delicacies and national trends intersect. The renovation responds to the urban growth of Fukuoka and changes in pedestrian traffic due to the 'Tenjin Big Bang' project. The confectionery section will expand to 50 brands, the largest in the city, with a focus on strawberry sweets and an enhanced bakery zone. The main building B2 will have its grand opening in late August, followed by the East Building B2 in the autumn.
