'pombo': Dining optimized for urban living

'moifani,' operated by Shiki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Okawa, Fukuoka Prefecture), will participate for the first time in the design event '3daysofdesign2026,' held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from June 10 (Wed) to June 12 (Fri), 2026. The brand will unveil its new 'pombo' collection, designed for modern family structures and diverse lifestyles.

Launched in 2021, 'moifani' is a furniture brand by Shiki Co., Ltd., a manufacturer based in the furniture-producing city of Okawa. The designs are handled by the Portugal-based studio 'SATEREO.' Based on observations of human behavior, they create long-lasting solid wood furniture through master craftsmanship.

### The New 'pombo' Collection

Named after the Portuguese word for 'dove,' the 'pombo' collection is a set of tables and chairs designed to meet the lifestyle changes of the modern urban environment, where 1-to-3-person households are the majority. It combines a compact footprint with spacious seating comfort and offers versatility for flexible arrangement.

#### pombo Table Features an asymmetrical shape that is neither round nor rectangular. Simply by changing its placement, the impression of the room and movement flow shift, allowing one table to adapt to various household sizes and uses. It effectively utilizes room corners and creates a comfortable distance with a 90-degree seating relationship.

#### pombo Chair Features the 'Beak Armrest,' designed after observing postures during after-dinner relaxation. It transforms the dining space from a place to eat and leave into a place to 'stay for a while.' The backrest embraces the user, making it ideal for reading, studying, or other activities.
