Enjoy local Miyagi sake at the aquarium on a summer night. Nine leading Miyagi breweries gather for the 'Sake Night Aquarium' on August 29, 2026, from 18:30 to 21:30. Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, which creates new connections between the sea, water, and people, will host this reconstruction support event after closing. Born in 2017 to support recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake, this is the 14th edition of the aquarium's signature premium night event, which sells out annually. On the day, nine breweries will gather to offer their pride and joy, including limited-edition sake. Brewers will stand at their booths to share their passion and the characteristics of their sake. Guests can also observe the nocturnal behavior of sea creatures in the aquarium after hours. It is an adult-only event for those over 20. Enjoy the luxurious time in the cool aquarium while being healed by sea creatures and savoring sake nurtured by Miyagi's climate and culture. Participating breweries include Saura, Shiogama Abekan, Hirako Shuzo, Otokoyama Honten, Kakuboshi, Sasaki Shuzo, Zao Shuzo, Ichinokura, and Miyakanbai. Special food menus using J-Oil Mills products will be available at the 1st-floor food court.
