TBS will broadcast a special documentary and interview program titled 'Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi: Exclusive Close-up – A Cry Against the Headwinds' on Monday, July 27, from 2:15 a.m. to 2:45 a.m. (Kanto region only).

Since his major debut in 1978 with the single 'Junrenka,' Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi has spent 48 years creating music that resonates deeply with people. On June 30 this year, he released a mini-album titled 'JUST ONE.' Starting July 20, he is set to launch the 'TSUYOSHI NAGABUCHI ACOUSTIC HALL TOUR 2026 “JUST ONE”,' a solo acoustic tour comprising 19 performances across 16 cities nationwide.

Revealing the True Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi Through an In-Depth Interview

The program begins with Nagabuchi’s own question: 'Is the real me accurately conveyed to society?' Responding immediately with 'I don’t think so,' he analyzes how his own behavior contributes to the gap, while passionately expressing his pure feelings toward the music industry, emotions sparked by large-scale concerts at Sakurajima in Kagoshima and the foothills of Mount Fuji in Shizuoka, his songwriting approach, and his respect and encouragement for younger generations. He also reflects on the public image of 'Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi' and his resolve to embrace it.

Prioritizing Fans: Behind the Scenes of Tour Rehearsals

In addition to interviews, the program features behind-the-scenes footage from studio rehearsals and lighting design sessions for the upcoming tour. On the first day of rehearsal, Nagabuchi personally performs potential setlist songs to shape the concert flow. The documentary captures how he and his team meticulously craft lighting effects for each song, setting up stage sets and lights to perfect the visual experience. The footage reveals Nagabuchi’s relentless pursuit of excellence—constantly questioning conventions to deliver the best possible musical experience for his fans.

A performer who has persistently resisted conformity and raised his voice. A man who has repeatedly pushed himself to the edge, destroying and rebuilding. This is the true portrait of Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi—a one-of-a-kind artist whose 'cry' continues to echo.
