U-NEXT, the streaming service operated by USEN & U-NEXT GROUP, announced that its first original children's program 'Ugokosaku' received the top prize at Prix Jeunesse 2026, the prestigious international children's television festival held biennially in Munich, Germany since 1964. Often called the 'Academy Awards of children's TV,' the festival featured 66 finalist works from 23 countries during its May 29 to June 3 run. International experts viewed and voted on all nominated works, awarding 'Ugokosaku' the Best Prize in the 7-10 Non-Fiction category with the festival's overall highest score of 8.9. Launched by U-NEXT Kids in September 2025, 'Ugokosaku' is an innovative craft show where everything 'moves,' combining hands-on crafting with digital interaction via smartphones. Judges praised its creative ideas, use of everyday materials, smartphone-based interactivity, and pacing. The show's theme songs, including the catchy 'Ani, Ani Ani~' from the 'Ani-Kosaku' segment, were hummed by attendees. A multi-episode new series and themed workshops are planned for summer 2026.
