The basic structure and deployment method of Bear Barrier were finalized with Prototype 1.

With Prototype 2, the same structure is retained while improvements focus on portability and practicality.

Enhancements include miniaturization of the central polycarbonate panel, reduced storage size, weight reduction, and improved storage method—designed for real-world portability.

Prototype 2 marks the first step toward mass production.

The Meaning Behind the Name 'Bear Barrier'

'Barrier' means 'protective wall.' Bear Barrier is not a tool to fight bears.

It creates a protective wall between humans and bears. That’s all.

To let the bear pass by. To protect you if it approaches.

With this intention, we named this protective gear 'Bear Barrier.'

Bear Barrier is like a life jacket.

A life jacket isn’t for crossing the sea.

It’s to save your life if you fall into the water.

Bear Barrier is the same.

It’s not for fighting bears.

It’s to let the bear pass by. To protect people if the bear approaches.

Development Project 'Project Folzaam'

Project Folzaam is a development initiative to evolve Bear Barrier into a lighter, more portable, and safer protective device.

Prototype 2 is the first step.

We will continue development, improving lightweight design, deployment performance, protection capability, and portability, aiming for mass production.

Nationwide Demonstration Campaign

The best way to understand Bear Barrier is to see it in person.

With the completion of Prototype 2, we launch a nationwide demonstration campaign.

We will bring prototypes to municipalities, schools, kindergartens, bus operators, forestry and agriculture professionals—anyone involved in bear safety.

Future Development Plans

ACT-X is improving Prototype 2 while beginning development of new models.

For Prototype 3, we are considering a new concept: a small 15cm-square bag worn on the upper arm that deploys a dome of special cut-resistant fabric with a diameter of about 80cm. Designed for hiking, mountain foraging, night walks, etc., with a target total weight of 700g.

We will continue development to realize lighter, more accessible protective gear.
