Seminar Overview

Sato Foods Albirex Running Club will host the seminar "Core Training for All Sports, Taught by a World Athletics Gold Medalist" on Friday, August 7, 2026, at the Athletics Stadium of Niigata University of Health and Welfare in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture.

About the Event

With the nationwide shift of school sports clubs to community-based activities, there is an increasing demand for proper coaching of junior athletes. Fundamental training (basic physical abilities) during the junior years is crucial. This seminar will focus on "hip joint flexibility (range of motion) and coordination," introducing training methods applicable to all sports.

The instructor is Yusuke Suzuki (Coach of the Race Walking Block at Niigata University of Food and Agriculture), former world record holder in the 20km race walk and gold medalist at the Doha World Athletics Championships. In race walking, core training—specifically hip joint usage—has a significant impact on athletic performance.

Connecting Through Sports. Creating the Future.

A key feature of this seminar is the opportunity to learn directly from Yusuke Suzuki, who not only boasts world-class competitive achievements but is also active as a coach. As a coach for the track and field team at Niigata University of Food and Agriculture, he has produced Japanese representatives for the U20 World Athletics Championships.

Open to all junior sports coaches regardless of sport or coaching experience, this seminar addresses needs such as "wanting to expand coaching knowledge," "applying techniques to multi-sport coaching," and "building foundational skills for youth coaching." Improving hip joint mobility can enhance junior athletes’ performance and help prevent injuries.
