株式会社best (located in Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku), which operates the marriage-hunting and promotional photo studio STUDIO FUN, conducted a survey on profile photos among 209 Gen Z individuals currently engaged in marriage-hunting (konkatsu). In the context of marriage-hunting, first impressions are often formed through profile photos before meeting in person, making the atmosphere and expressions in these photos critical factors for matching and subsequent communication. Gen Z, in particular, is accustomed to 'getting to know others through photos' via social media and matching apps, leading to a heightened awareness of profile photo quality. The survey results revealed that Ryunosuke Kamiki (73 votes) ranked first as the male celebrity who looks best as a photographer, followed by Masaki Suda (45 votes) and Ryohei Suzuki (39 votes). Regarding the importance of profile photos, 95.7% of respondents stated they are important, with 65.6% saying they are 'very important.' When asked about the key points they prioritize in these photos, 'cleanliness' was the most cited factor (178 people), followed by 'clothing and grooming' (105 people) and 'natural smile' (100 people). The survey concludes that Gen Z values natural photos that convey personality and approachability over heavily edited ones. STUDIO FUN distinguishes itself by providing all captured data to clients, ensuring they can select the best photos to represent themselves.
