Enjoyable Jiu-Jitsu Entertainment 'Jiu Fight' to be Held at Tokyo Tower Media Center on August 9 (Sun)!!

Tickets for the previous event sold out one week prior to the event, which was a great success on the day!

YAWARA Jiu-Jitsu Academy (Harajuku - Owner Lee Young-jun) and SWEEP Jiu-Jitsu Academy (Kita-Sando - Owner Tsutsumi Tatsuo) held the "SUPER YAWARA SWEEP CUP 2026," a one-match and team competition event for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, on May 24, 2026 (Sun) at "Studio Earth" within the Tokyo Tower Media Center.

A total of 14 matches were held with the concept of "Jiu-Jitsu to watch and enjoy," and intense offense and defense unfolded throughout the day with approximately 200 spectators in attendance.

A New Jiu-Jitsu Spectacle that Captivates Not Only with "Strength" but Also with "Stories"

While Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has been steadily increasing its number of practitioners in recent years, this event uniquely focuses on the "drama beyond victory or defeat." Participants included not only top athletes but also skilled individuals from completely different fields such as business owners, investors, doctors, and lawyers.

By presenting each person's title and life background as a "story in the match card," the event was elevated into entertainment that draws in even spectators unfamiliar with Jiu-Jitsu. Before each match, the athletes' careers and rivalries were introduced, and the techniques honed through daily practice intersected with the courage forged in their professional lives, greatly exciting the audience.

The First-Ever "Jiu-Jitsu Waseda-Keio Match" Finally Realized

The first-ever "Jiu-Jitsu Waseda-Keio Match" finally took place. Team Waseda and Team Keio competed for the honor of their alma maters, and the clash of pride between these traditional schools pushed the venue's excitement to its peak.

Team Competitions Also Heated Up

In addition to individual matches, "Team Battles" where participants competed as companies or communities were also a major highlight.

'PTT,' boasting overwhelming training volume, vs. 'Mizukara Inc.,' comprised of busy businessmen.

'Team MENSA,' the ultimate intellectual group with the top 2% of IQs, vs. 'Koda Jiu Jitsu Team' (Takuya Koda, Certified Public Accountant and Tax Accountant Office), an intellectual group dealing with critical numbers.

'FLEX GROUP,' elites from the forefront of business led by Chairman Watanabe himself, embodying the ultimate of "gentleness overcoming hardness, winning with the whole team," vs. 'Team Yakiniku Koko,' elites who grill the finest meats, with the motto "Cherish dogs, grill meat, submit opponents."

These and other intense matches, where organizational cohesion was tested, continued.

Venue United by Spectator Participation "JIU-FIGHT Voting System"

This event introduced the spectator participation voting system "JIU-FIGHT" (produced by Kento Nishio), allowing attendees to predict the outcome of each match via their smartphones. It offered a new spectating experience of "participating" rather than just watching, creating a new form of support where the venue erupted with each vote.

Award Ceremony and After-Party Following the Matches

After all matches concluded, an award ceremony was held to honor the efforts of the athletes who had diligently trained. At the subsequent after-party, special meats provided by sponsor "Yakiniku Koko" were served, creating a warm atmosphere where athletes, spectators, and staff mingled without barriers.
