klEar works and Onkyo Collaborate to Launch 'Precision' BA Monitor Earphones

A New Standard for Music Production. Redefining the 'Correctness' of Sound.

klEar works (operated by CATENAS Inc.), in collaboration with Onkyo Corporation’s speaker technology team, has completed a year-long project to develop '#7 Precision,' a monitor earphone for professionals.

Through field validation by music producer Shinko Ogura, who has worked on numerous hits for artists like Kana Nishino and DISH//, a new reference model born from Japanese acoustic culture has arrived.

#7 'Precision' focuses on 'sound accuracy' and 'fit,' essential elements for monitor earphones. It is designed as a 'portable reference' that provides studio-equivalent decision-making criteria, even in Japanese residential environments where high-volume speaker use is not possible.

For acoustic design, it features a proprietary 2.5-way crossover structure. By appropriately attenuating low and high frequencies, it suppresses phase distortion, achieving both reduced THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) and high resolution. The shell uses a proprietary 'klEar Fit S' design, ensuring a stress-free fit even for long periods with a compact width of approximately 2cm.
