The BL drama "Futsu no Renai" is a live-action adaptation of the digital comic of the same name, depicting the clumsy yet tender romance between two men. Starring Yuki Furukawa and Ryota Nagano (Genin wa Jibun ni Aru.), the drama began airing sequentially on CBC TV, MBS, and BS Asahi in July 2026, with exclusive streaming on FOD. Additionally, the first episode premiered on TOKYO MX on July 10 (Fri.) late night.

Ahead of the broadcast and streaming of the second episode, we present the synopsis and preview stills for the next installment.

Episode 2 Synopsis | "What is a Lover?"

Kei (Ryota Nagano) was unable to immediately answer Kazuyoshi (Yuki Furukawa)'s question, "Do you truly like me as a 'lover'?"

Kazuyoshi initiates the conversation, saying, "We should break up," which prompts Kei to recall past events.

Kei, who respected Kazuyoshi as a working adult, was genuinely happy to get to know Kazuyoshi's true self and become close through their shared hobby of movies. However, he never imagined their relationship would go beyond that as two men.

When Kazuyoshi confessed his feelings, Kei didn't have special emotions either; he decided to start dating solely out of the fear of "losing this person if I refuse," and struggled with whether he, a heterosexual, could love a man.

Meanwhile, due to Kazuyoshi's sudden business trip, the two are separated. They were only apart for a few days, but during that time, Kei re-examined his feelings and reached a conclusion—.

Bun'ya Kazuyoshi and Higashi Kei are in a superior-subordinate relationship at work. Kazuyoshi, due to past trauma, avoids deep connections with others, believing "a future of living with someone will never come," and continues to protect his own peaceful daily life. Meanwhile, Kei also identifies as someone who doesn't develop romantic feelings for others and lives a life unrelated to love.

The two began spending time together outside of work through their shared hobby of movies. One day, Kazuyoshi confessed that he is gay, and Kei, understanding the sincerity of his feelings, began dating him. With a 12-year age gap, a boss-subordinate dynamic, and being same-sex, the timid boss and the pure younger boyfriend search for their own happiness while confronting the societal barrier of "normalcy." This is an unpretentious and endearing realistic love story that meticulously depicts even the subtle warmth of everyday life.
