e-Craft Inc. (Representative Director/CEO: Kazutoshi Nukata, hereinafter "e-Craft") and DeNA Co., Ltd. (Representative Director, President and CEO: Tomoko Namba, hereinafter "DeNA") will jointly hold a programming workshop for elementary school students titled "Let's Challenge Game Creation and Robot Crafting with Programming!!" on August 2, 2026.

DeNA provides "Programming Zemi," a programming learning app for elementary school students, developed through programming classes for public elementary schools. e-Craft provides "robot programming educational materials born from NTT Docomo's new business creation program."

As both offer creative experiences through programming for young elementary school students, they have been holding collaborative workshops since 2024. The event satisfaction rate was 95.8% in the year before last and 100% last year, and this year marks the third time the event will be held. Children who participated last year commented, "It was so fun, time flew by." and "It was very easy to understand and a lot of fun." Parents also shared positive feedback such as, "There were many staff members, and it was a helpful event. My child's eyes were sparkling." and "The session was so wonderful that the three hours felt like a blink of an eye, with a structure that captured the child's interest and stimulated their imagination." Based on this feedback, we have decided to hold the event again this year as an opportunity to foster children's creativity.

Shosuke Suehiro, developer of Programming Zemi, and Kazutoshi Nukata, developer of embot, are scheduled to participate and will provide direct lectures. This workshop is designed for children who are new to game creation or robot crafting, ensuring a comfortable experience for all. It can also be used as inspiration for summer break free study projects.

◆ About embot

embot is a robot that can be assembled using cardboard and electronic components, allowing users to learn the basics of electronics and manufacturing. Using a dedicated app installed on tablets or other devices, children can easily program and operate the robots they assemble. It is a service that allows users to learn programming through this entire process. Because programs can be built in a flowchart format, it is possible to intuitively acquire basic programming concepts such as if statements and for loops, as well as advanced programming such as sensor integration and Web API linkage.

e-Craft was founded with the aim of "a society where anyone can practice creative manufacturing" and is a venture company originating from NTT Docomo. With the core focus on the planning and development of the programming education robot "embot," which combines cardboard and electronic components, e-Craft develops workshops and school programs that convey the joy of manufacturing to everyone from elementary school students to adults, while fostering non-cognitive skills.

◆ DeNA's Programming Education

As part of its social contribution activities, DeNA has been promoting programming education since 2014 under the initiative of "Supporting the Next Generation of IT." "Programming Zemi," a programming learning app for elementary schools (https://programmingzemi.com/), was released free of charge for iOS, Android, and Windows in October 2017 as one of these efforts. Through classes and events at public elementary schools, particularly in Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; Taragi Town, Kumamoto Prefecture; and Takeo City, Saga Prefecture, we have provided classes and experiential events utilizing Programming Zemi to over 25,000 children to date. Since June 2019, DeNA has participated in the "Kids Valley Future Learning Project," which aims to enhance programming education in Shibuya Ward's elementary and junior high schools and build a foundation for nurturing talent with the qualities and abilities necessary for the next generation from Shibuya. In September 2019, DeNA also participated as a cooperating company in "Mirapro (Future Learning Programming Education Promotion Month)," established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry to promote preparations for the implementation of programming education in elementary schools. Through the Programming Zemi initiative, DeNA strives to introduce the fun of programming to many children who will lead the future, and to create an environment where many elementary and junior high schools can engage in programming education.
