Saitama Yakuyoke Kaiun Daishi Ryusenji, the Birthplace of Paper-Cut Goshuin, Begins Offering Two Limited-Edition Summer Designs: 'Soko' and 'Natsuzora no Uta'

At Saitama Yakuyoke Kaiun Daishi Ryusenji, a temple known as the birthplace of paper-cut Goshuin and one of Japan's three major temples for warding off evil and bringing good fortune, two summer-exclusive paper-cut Goshuin designs, 'Soko' and 'Natsuzora no Uta,' produced by ELternal, have been available since June 1st. By promoting the creation of 'fans' for temples and shrines through Goshuin, we aim to convey the charm of these sacred sites and contribute to passing down traditional Japanese arts and culture to future generations.

'Soko' expresses the vast blue sky and sparkling waves, featuring a ship sailing powerfully across the ocean through delicate and bold paper-cut art. The ship is detailed with intricate ropes and decorations, while the waves incorporate motifs like seashells. Holographic silver foil is used to represent the shimmering sea spray under the summer sun.

'Natsuzora no Uta' captures the contrasting beauty of the Japanese summer sky, both day and night. The right side depicts a clear blue sky with sunflowers and morning glories, accented with wind chimes. The left side portrays a summer night with butterflies, hydrangeas, and lanterns, with delicate gold foil representing fireflies. The offering period is from June 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026.
